A visual essay documenting two seperate visits in the area Ayoama in Tokyo, Japan. From the publisher: We all know of a space in our own neighbourhoods and cities that is not there anymore. We might mourn that loss but our focus on the immediate obscures the broader consequences of our actions and their impact on nature: On the herbs, the insects, the birds, the frogs, the worms and on us – on the myriad life forms with which we share our spaces on this ever-warmer planet. But if we take a few steps nack and try to see the bigger picture and be consistent as if though our lives depended on it – could we then learn somehing from what we've seen? Even when it is all too late: could we learn something from Aoyama?
