John och Ulla Kandell: Leken och allvaret

A perfect partnership During 50 years, John and Ulla Kandell created three homes together. For the couple, working within architecture, design, painting, textile, interiors and gardening, the home proved to be the ideal workshop. Periods of economic hardship sometimes replaced by a time of material surplus are all reflected their environment. John Kandell's furniture design is perhaps what brought him most recognition. The collaboration with Sven Lundh at Källemo produced the design icons Pilaster, a bookshelf, and Camilla, a three-legged chair. And they took producer and designer all the way to Milano. Ulla Kandell's textile art is connected to that of Anni Albers'. They share a complex technique.
