Karl Nordström (1855-1923) was the figure-head for the Swedish National Romanticist art movement and an artists' artist. In his art, was true idealist, who never gave way to flattery in order to gain popularity amongst critics or audiences. Today, Nordström is seen as one of Sweden's all-time most important landscape painters. This catalogue features paintings from the artist's many phases, from his time in Grez-sur-Loing in the 1880s, and the National Romanticist period of the 1890s, to the later Modersnist-influenced works which depicts the outskirts of Stockholm.
